Frequently Asked Questions

Excellent photos result from good listening as well as seeing. We like to plan your shoot with you, finding locations and photographic elements meaningful to you.

Call, text, or email us to find a time! We're available many weekends and most weekdays. A $50 deposit secures your date. The $50 is applied toward (reduces) your total package price. We accept cards through Square and checks by mail.

Square is a secure company that processes payments. You've probably used them at a shop or restaurant.

We reserve up to two hours for a family session, that way we have time to visit a second location and/or accommodate changes of outfit and mood.

A typical session results in 40 to 50 edited images delivered to a custom, online proofing gallery on our client server. All of your images receive our editorial overview, including a naturalistic retouching. Rest assured our responsible retouching will have you looking your best; think of it like a digital spa session.

Our turn-around times vary throughout the year, but we typically have a full gallery available within a month of the session. We know it can be hard to wait, though, so we always share a small preview within a few days of the session.

From your gallery, you, your extended family, and your friends can order prints from our professional lab, or download the images for free. Your gallery will be password-protected, so you just share the link and password with anyone you want to share the images with. We also include a print license with every session enabling you to make prints anytime, anywhere you choose.

Of course! We know your fur babies are part of the family, too! We recommend bringing treats and/or a favorite toy to help keep them focused and happy, and if possible, someone to hold the leash in between shots.

Naturally, however, certain locations restrict pets and we must abide by the property owner's rules.

As you know, the weather can be unpredictable. If your session gets rained out (or it snows, or it's too smoky), we will reschedule for the next available date at your convenience.

There is no charge to reschedule a shoot we postpone due to weather conditions.

There are a few things to avoid—we advise against tight, repeating lines; large, distracting patterns; and neon colors. That said, what you wear is a reflection of who you are. While having everyone wear the same thing (like black shirts and jeans) can help identify you as a group, wearing complementary colors and clothes in the same register can be just as effective, as well as visually interesting. We can often accommodate one or two outfit changes, and we're happy to help you decide what to wear based on the setting and the look you would like to achieve, so feel free to bring options!

In most cases, it's no problem for us to find another date. If we are unable to find a workable day, or if you are needing several reschedules, we reserve the right to retain the deposit.

Absolutely. There's no extra charge for variety.
